Berlin, June 11, 2022 (AFP) - VfB Stuttgart midfielder Atakan Karazor has been arrested while on holiday in Ibiza, the Bundesliga club confirmed Saturday.
In a brief statement, the German club said the footballer "denies any criminal act".
VfB Stuttgart did not specify what the defensive midfielder is accused of, but as the case is under investigation the club "cannot comment further for the time being".
Karazor, who was born in Essen, joined Stuttgart in 2019 from second division side Holstein Kiel.
Only last month, the 25-year-old signed a contract extension until 2026.
He made 25 appearances in all competitions last season for Stuttgart, who only guaranteed their place in the Bundesliga with a home win on the final weekend.
