New York Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson is done for the remainder of the postseason after undergoing a second procedure on his injured left ankle, sources told ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
Robinson had imaging done following the Knicks' Game 1 win over the Indiana Pacers, which revealed a stress injury to his ankle. He will be re-evaluated by the club in six-to-eight weeks.
The Knicks are already without several key contributors, including Julius Randle and OG Anunoby. Meanwhile, Isaiah Hartenstein's status for Game 5 is up in the air after he hurt his left shoulder midway through the second quarter of the previous tilt.
The second-round series is tied at two games apiece heading into Tuesday's encounter at Madison Square Garden.
Robinson missed New York's last three games. The 7-foot center originally sustained the injury in the opening round of the playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers and sat out Game 4 before returning for the remainder of the first-round series.
Robinson has battled injury problems for the majority of his six-year NBA career. He tied a career low with just 31 regular-season appearances this season.
Robinson averaged 5.6 points, 8.5 boards, and 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks during the 2023-24 campaign.
The Knicks selected Robinson with the No. 36 overall pick in 2018.
