Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jaylen Watson will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, head coach Sean McVay announced Wednesday, according to ESPN's Sarah Barshop.

Watson will finish his first campaign with the Rams with nine pass breakups and an interception over seven appearances.

The Rams brought in Watson as a free agent, handing him a three-year, $51-million contract to lure him from the Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams also acquired Trent McDuffie from the Chiefs in a blockbuster offseason trade, keeping the two highly touted cornerbacks together.

Watson injured his shoulder in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He dislocated the same shoulder early in the season and sat out the next game as a result.
