A 96th-minute own goal from Doneil Henry saw Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps play to a draw in the first leg of the Canadian Championship final at BC Place on Wednesday night despite the latter playing the entire second half with 10 men.

Kei Kamara opened the scoring for the 'Caps after he converted from the penalty spot following an inexplicable handball from opposing striker Tosaint Ricketts.

That lead lasted just two minutes, as Auro and Marky Delgado combined down the right wing to cross for an unmarked Jonathan Osorio, who produced an accomplished finish on the volley to score his 15th of the season in all competitions.

Things then got worse for the hosts when Felipe was sent off on the stroke of half-time for a rash challenge on Delgado.

The advantage didn't benefit TFC, however, as Erik Hurtado beat a poor offside trap to run through and score six minutes from time.

But Henry, a former TFC defender, disastrously put the ball in his own net with virtually the last kick of the game to tie things up at 2-2 and hand his old club an invaluable second away goal.

The decisive second leg goes Wednesday at BMO Field.
