The Golden State Valkyries' meteoric rise to the summit of the WNBA is complete.
The Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals on Saturday to claim the franchise's first title in just its second season of existence.
Valkyries guard Gabby Williams led all scorers with 30 points - 28 of them in the second half - on 10-of-23 shooting. She also had four blocks, three rebounds, two steals, and two assists in the victory at Chase Center in San Francisco.
The 30-year-old Williams was named the 2026 Finals MVP.

Jordin Canada led Atlanta with 18 points and five assists, and guard Allisha Gray added 16 points and six rebounds. Angel Reese finished with eight points on 3-of-7 shooting and 12 rebounds. She was 1-of-3 from distance, which seemed to be a good omen for the Dream; they were a combined 16-0 in the regular season and playoffs in games in which Reese hit at least one three.
This was the first WNBA Finals to require a seventh game since the adoption of the best-of-seven format in 2025.
