Cleveland Cavaliers forward Larry Nance Jr. is expected to miss approximately six weeks after fracturing the fourth metacarpal on his left hand in Saturday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, the team announced Sunday.
He will likely undergo surgery, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst.
Nance suffered the fracture in the first quarter Saturday, a source told Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor. It was the 28-year-old's first game back after missing three contests with a sprained right wrist.
The Cavaliers big man is averaging 9.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per contest in 19 games this season.
Cleveland is 10-14 this season and currently occupies the Eastern Conference's final play-in spot. However, the team is 2-7 over its last nine games, with wins coming against the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves. Those clubs rank last in the East and West, respectively.
