One family of New York Knicks fans made sure they'll never forget the result of the 2026 NBA Finals.

Two New York City parents recently named their first-born son Knickson Fyve Bradford to commemorate the Knicks defeating the San Antonio Spurs in five games.

Mother Yvonne Gonzalez-Bradford suggested the first name the day after the Knicks won the title, according to Today's Rosie Colosi, and came up with "Fyve" as a middle name two days later. She was seven months pregnant at the time.

Knickson was born on his mother's birthday, Aug. 8. His paternal grandmother, Sydell Johnson, was the Knicks' scorekeeper when they won an NBA championship in 1973. Johnson died in 2025.

"If he turns out to be a Celtics fan or a Sixers fan, again he's still Knickson Bradford, who is in the boardroom," father Vance Bradford said. "We wanted to have a very strong and firm name that would lead to a cool life.

"Knickson Fyve is definitely our motto. Knickson Fyve forever!"

Knickson's unlikely to be the only NYC baby whose name was inspired by the Knicks' first title in 53 years. Data from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene indicates that 27 babies have been named Jalen since the Knicks won their first title in 53 years, according to Haidee Chu of The City Reporter - likely in tribute to Finals MVP Jalen Brunson. There were just 15 Jalens born in New York City between March and October in 2025.
