Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is out indefinitely with no timeline for his return, head coach Ryan Day announced Tuesday, according to Dillon Davis of the Delaware Gazette.
The team is preparing for the possibility that Sayin could miss the rest of the year, Day said.
"What we're trying to do is give Julian and his family the space and privacy to go through this process," Day said.
"Based on the nature of the injury, we are putting together a plan for him not being available for the regular season and also him not being available for the postseason."
Sayin suffered an arm injury on a sack in the fourth quarter of Ohio State's victory over Indiana. He finished Saturday's game on the sideline with his arm in a sling.
Luke Fahey took over at quarterback after Sayin's injury. Fahey and Tavien St. Clair will get first-team reps this week in practice, according to Pete Nakos of On3.
Ohio State is on a bye this week with its next game coming against USC on Oct. 31. The Buckeyes are 6-1.
