Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai: Availability still uncertain

Szoboszlai (hamstring) remains a late fitness call for Saturday's Premier League clash against Brentford, according to coach Andoni Iraola. "It's early for us to say, we have still tomorrow's training. Obviously, they were not ready for last night [against LASK]. We have to wait and see. I think it's still very early but the same way I said they are not available for the previous games, I leave the chance open this time, yes."

Analysis:

Szoboszlai has missed Liverpool's last two matches against Manchester City and LASK after suffering a hamstring injury during the international break. The Hungarian midfielder has established himself as a key figure in Liverpool's midfield thanks to his creativity, set-piece delivery and ability to contribute goals and assists, making his absence particularly significant during a demanding stretch of four matches in 12 days. Teammate Milos Kerkez previously suggested that Szoboszlai was eager to return against Brentford, but manager Iraola's latest comments indicate that his involvement remains uncertain ahead of Friday's final training session. Szoboszlai scored two goals and created 16 chances in six appearances across all competitions for the Reds, playing as a midfielder only after covering the right-back role several times last season under former coach Arne Slot.
