Geriner has been splitting first-team reps at quarterback ahead of Saturday's game at Boston College, Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis:Geriner was mistake-prone in his first start of the year against UNC with QB1 Mason Heintschel out for the year with an ACL tear, so it now appears there will be a battle with Corey Dailey for the true starting role for the rest of the year. The Panthers could also roll with a two-quarterback look at least this Saturday, but Geriner does have more experience which could bode well for him in the final decision.
