Scott (quadriceps) had positive MRI results and could return sooner than initially expected after coach Marco Rose said he is hopeful the midfielder will be back before the initial two-month prognosis, according to Peter Rutzler of Times Sport. "We did an MRI (Wednesday) and his progression, his healing, is better than we expected... We are quite confident that we get him back maybe a little bit earlier."
Analysis:Scott was given a four-to-five-week timeline in early October, but this update suggests he could have a chance to return before that period. He remains out for the time being though, having already missed two matches across EPL and UEL competitions. Prior to the issue, he served as a regular starter in the holding midfield line while also racking up shots and a few set pieces per contest. Until Scott is ready to return, all of Tyler Adams, Lewis Cook and Ryan Christie will see increased minutes on the pitch.
