The Thunder waived Smith on Friday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Analysis:Smith scored seven points in just five minutes during Tuesday's preseason win over Indiana, connecting on all three of his field-goal attempts, including a three-pointer. Despite that efficient showing, the guard was unable to earn a roster spot and will enter free agency.
