Smith is logging first-team reps in practice with Dylan Raiola and Brock Thomas before Saturday's game against Nebraska, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
Analysis:Dylan Moore is Oregon's QB1, but he suffered a concussion in Week 4 and remains out. Dylan Raiola filled in for Moore in the Ducks' previous game, but after they struggled to score and lost to UCLA, the former has opened the temporary starting quarterback position to Smith and Thomas. Even though Thomas is slightly favored to start in Week 7, there is still a chance for Smith to impress, and this marks the closest he has reached QB1 status at the FBS level.
