Kalkbrenner is in the Hornets' starting lineup for Friday's preseason game against the Grizzlies.
Analysis:Kalkbrenner will draw the start for Friday's preseason finale while Moussa Diabate (elbow) is sidelined. Across three preseason games, Kalkbrenner has averaged 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds over 15.4 minutes per game. It's unclear what his role will look like for the 2026-27 season given the presence of both Diabate and rookie first-rounder Hannes Steinbach.
