Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs has requested a trade, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Downs' request comes as the Colts have begun to position themselves as sellers ahead of the trade deadline. They traded guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday.
Star running back Jonathan Taylor has reportedly also garnered interest from the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and Minnesota Vikings. However, Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Wednesday that Taylor hasn't requested a trade, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder.
Shortly after rumors of Downs' trade request emerged Wednesday, the pass-catcher told reporters that he's "open to whatever."
"Whatever comes my way, comes my way, and we go from there," he added.
Downs is Indianapolis' leading receiver this year with 307 yards on 26 catches.
The 25-year-old has racked up 2,447 receiving yards since being selected in the third round of the 2023 draft. His best season came in 2024, when he recorded 72 catches, 803 yards, and five touchdowns.
He's scheduled to become a free agent after the 2026 campaign.
The Colts, who are 2-5 and riding a three-game losing streak, fired general manager Chris Ballard earlier in October.
