The Baltimore Ravens are finalizing a trade with the Arizona Cardinals for quarterback Jacoby Brissett, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
The move comes after the Ravens lost Lamar Jackson to a thumb injury and backup Tyler Huntley to a season-ending turf toe. Baltimore will start undrafted rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano on Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The trade won't be completed in time for Thursday's game, Schefter reports. Brissett, 33, is expected to debut in Week 10 on Monday Night Football versus the Los Angeles Chargers.
Arizona demoted Brissett to third-string quarterback Monday, moving Gardner Minshew and Carson Beck ahead of him on the depth chart.
The Cardinals benched Brissett for Minshew during their overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Brissett completed 10 of 23 attempts for 118 yards. He threw an interception and was sacked four times.
Brissett has thrown for 1,719 yards and 10 touchdowns with a 63.3% completion rate in eight starts this season. He's thrown seven interceptions.
Baltimore quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork worked with Brissett in Arizona last season.
The Ravens are fourth in the AFC North at 4-4.
