Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey is now week-to-week with an upper-body injury, head coach Scott Arniel confirmed Thursday to team reporter Mitchell Clinton.

The injury does not require surgery, Arniel added.

Morrissey was hurt Oct. 7 against the Colorado Avalanche and was initially labeled day-to-day. He's missed two games already and will remain out of the lineup for Thursday's clash against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Jets' top blue-liner notched three assists in four games while averaging over 20 minutes per night before being sidelined.

Winnipeg is 4-1-1 on the season.
