The Edmonton Oilers have placed goaltender Devon Levi on injured reserve, the team announced Friday.

Matt Tomkins has been recalled from the AHL's Bakersfield Condors under emergency conditions.

Edmonton acquired Levi from the Buffalo Sabres during the offseason.

The 24-year-old has emerged as the team's No. 1 goaltender, posting a 6-1 record and a 3.11 goals against average.

Veteran goaltender Tristan Jarry will get the nod for Saturday's matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Oilers sit atop the Western Conference standings with an 8-1-1 record.
