The Montreal Canadiens aren't on Dylan Larkin's trade list, but the Detroit Red Wings are still monitoring the Habs in case the veteran forward changes his mind about playing in Montreal.
"Detroit is actively scouting the Montreal Canadiens of late, among other teams of course, but doing their due diligence on the Canadiens in person just in case Dylan Larkin does add Montreal to that list," TSN's Pierre LeBrun said during Thursday's edition of "Insider Trading."
Larkin, who has a full no-movement clause in his contract, reportedly expanded his trade list to 10 teams on Tuesday. The list is exclusively comprised of American squads.
Canadiens fans have been interested in adding the 30-year-old to their team, and serenaded him with "We Want Larkin" chants when the Red Wings visited the Bell Centre on Oct. 10.
Larkin requested the Red Wings trade him last June after he registered a career-high 34 goals during the 2025-26 season. Detroit stripped him of the captaincy in September.
