The Ottawa Senators placed goaltender Linus Ullmark on injured reserve after he left Wednesday's victory over the Florida Panthers with a lower-body injury, the team announced Thursday.

Ullmark is required to miss at least a week while on IR, though a concrete timeline is yet to be determined.

The netminder was helped off the ice after making a save in the third period.

Ottawa recalled Jonas Johansson from the AHL with Ullmark unavailable for Thursday's tilt against the San Jose Sharks. Samuel Ersson is projected to start.

Ullmark has been dominant in the early going of the season, posting a 7-1-0 record and .945 save percentage. Ersson, on the other hand, is 0-2-0 with an .831 clip.

If Ullmark's absence is limited to a week, he projects to miss three games.
