The Bay Golf Club dealt Shane Lowry to Boston Common Golf in the first trade in TGL history, the league announced Monday.
The Bay received Boston's fourth selection in this offseason's roster formation process to fill its vacant spot as well as an additional future pick in one of the next three offseasons.
Lowry will join longtime friend Rory McIlroy on Boston's squad, which also features Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, and Hideki Matsuyama.
"I'm delighted to be joining Boston Common Golf," Lowry said in a statement. "Having Rory alongside me and being part of this group makes it particularly exciting, and I'm looking forward to helping the team bring a championship to Boston."
Lowry, 39, has three career PGA Tour wins.
The third season of TGL is scheduled to begin Dec. 27. Los Angeles Golf Club are the reigning champions.
