The San Francisco Giants have been busy, and they're still eyeing one of the top remaining free agents.
The Giants have been in contact with shortstop Dansby Swanson this week about a potential deal, sources told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
Swanson's decision is not imminent, Morosi adds.
The 28-year-old is expected to command a long-term deal after one of the best offensive seasons of his career. Swanson hit .277/.329/.447 with 25 home runs, 32 doubles, 96 RBIs, and 18 steals in 162 games for the Atlanta Braves.
The Giants already have Brandon Crawford under contract for next season, but the veteran could move to second base to accommodate Swanson, who is a superior defender.
Swanson accrued nine defensive runs saved and 21 outs above average while ranking second in the majors in FanGraphs' defensive rating.
The Georgia native and Carlos Correa remain on the market after fellow shortstops Trea Turner and Xander Bogaerts signed lucrative long-term deals with the Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres, respectively.
San Francisco has already signed outfielder Mitch Haniger and starting pitchers Sean Manaea and Ross Stripling.
The Giants were also connected to Aaron Judge before he re-signed with the Yankees and have been linked to left-hander Carlos Rodon as well.
