Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers was named the 2026 National League Championship Series MVP after the Brewers swept the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.
In Game 3, Bauers hit the go-ahead two-run home run to culminate a remarkable 11-pitch at-bat against Blake Snell in the top of the seventh. He added three RBIs in Game 4 and was also responsible for an epic 12-pitch at-bat against Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2.
The 31-year-old had at least one hit in each game of Milwaukee's sweep of the two-time defending champion Dodgers. Bauers finished the NLCS with six RBIs, tying the Brewers' franchise record in a series.
"There was never a doubt," Bauers said. "There was never a doubt in that dugout what was going to happen tonight. We knew we were going to win that game."
Bauers is the first Brewers player to win LCS MVP. The Angels' Fred Lynn won MVP honors in a losing effort when Milwaukee made the World Series in 1982.
Bauers logged 26 home runs and 86 RBIs in the regular season.
The Brewers are off to their first World Series since 1982 and will play the winner of the ALCS between the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays.
