Texas A&M quarterback Max Johnson will start over Haynes King on Saturday against Miami, a source told Action Network's Brett McMurphy.

King passed for only 97 yards with no touchdowns in last week's loss to Appalachian State. He threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions in the opener versus Sam Houston State.

Johnson joined the Aggies this season after spending two campaigns with LSU. He appeared in 12 games with the Tigers in 2021, tossing for 2,815 yards and 27 touchdowns against six interceptions.

Texas A&M allowed only 17 total points over two games this season, but their offense has struggled, averaging 22.5 points per contest.
