Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald is sticking with Sam Darnold after the starting quarterback threw two interceptions late in Thursday night's loss to the Denver Broncos.

"I think we have a lot of faith in Sam," Macdonald said Friday, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. "Sam's played great football for us. He's done a lot of great things this year but obviously turned the ball over more than we want to. I feel like there's things on our end that can help him play better football, and I think he's definitely part of the solution rather than the opposite."

Darnold was picked off twice - once in the fourth quarter and then again in overtime - in the Seahawks' 17-14 defeat. The second interception led to Wil Lutz's winning field goal in the extra frame. The reigning Super Bowl champions fell to 3-3 this season.

Darnold also threw two picks in a loss to the division-rival San Francisco 49ers last weekend.

The signal-caller took responsibility for his costly mistakes after Thursday's game against Denver.

"It's BS for me to keep turning the ball over," Darnold said. "It's not fair to our defense, not fair to our special teams group, not fair really to the entire team. I've got to be better that way."

Macdonald confirmed he's not considering a change at quarterback.

"No. No," Macdonald told Seattle Sports 710 AM, according to Henderson. "I understand we have a great backup quarterback in Drew (Lock), and Drew is a tremendous quarterback."

The coach added: "Sam's played great football for us this year the majority of the time. And there's other times where - and he'll be the first to tell you - he needs to take care of the football. But I think these are solutions that we can find with Sam as our quarterback."

The Seahawks next face the Kansas City Chiefs at home Oct. 25.
