The New England Patriots activated wide receiver A.J. Brown off injured reserve ahead of their Week 6 game against the New York Jets, the team announced Saturday.
Brown is expected to play Sunday after suffering a high ankle sprain during his Patriots debut in the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
The 29-year-old returned to practice and was a limited participant this week. He was officially listed as questionable on the injury report Friday.
Brown entered the season as the Patriots' top target after joining the team during an offseason trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. He caught three passes for 26 yards in Week 1 against the Seahawks.
Free-agent signing Romeo Doubs leads New England with 219 receiving yards and two touchdown catches this season. Wideout DeMario Douglas has also found the end zone twice.
