The Arizona Diamondbacks designated right-hander Zack Godley for assignment on Monday, the team announced.
Godley was scheduled to be under team control through the 2022 campaign.
The 29-year-old won 15 games last season while posting a 9.3 K/9 rate and 3.82 FIP in 178 1/3 innings for Arizona. However, he's been unable to achieve the same level of success in 2019, as he owns a 6.39 ERA in 27 games (nine starts).
He's spent his entire five-year career with the D-Backs.
Right-hander Taylor Clarke was optioned to Triple-A Reno while left-hander Robby Scott and righty Kevin Ginkel were promoted to the 25-man roster.
