The Arizona Diamondbacks placed ace Zac Gallen on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, the club announced Friday.

Gallen threw only six pitches before leaving his start Thursday against the New York Mets.

Gallen, who finished as a 2023 NL Cy Young finalist, entered the game with a 3.12 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts over 57 2/3 innings (10 starts) this season.

Arizona's rotation is already missing right-hander Merrill Kelly and left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez.
