NBA commissioner Adam Silver says there's no issue with LeBron James' sponsored helicopter used to commute from New York to Philadelphia.

"In the case of LeBron and that helicopter, he has a deal with Fanatics," Silver said during an appearance Tuesday on "The Pat McAfee Show," according to The Athletic's Mike Vorkunov.

"Top players in the league have huge endorsement deals. That's their right. As long as those are independently negotiated, they're perfectly appropriate," Silver said.

Silver added that the sponsorship is not a violation of league rules since no team is involved in the agreement.

James will fly from New York City to Philadelphia for all 76ers games and to the team's practice facility in Camden, New Jersey, in a helicopter provided as part of a multi-year endorsement agreement with licensed sports merchandise giants Fanatics.

"Just another way of transportation," James said earlier this week. "That's all."

James and the 76ers kick off their campaign Tuesday against the defending champion New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden as part of an Opening Night tripleheader.
