The Los Angeles Lakers waived small forward Dalton Knecht.

The Lakers had been trying to trade Knecht before Monday's roster cutdown deadline but couldn't find a match, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Knecht, whom L.A. selected with the No. 17 pick in the 2024 draft, averaged 7.1 points while shooting 37% from three over 132 games with the Lakers.

The 25-year-old was solid in 2024-25 as a rookie, putting up 9.1 points with 2.8 rebounds over 78 contests, including 16 starts. He shot 46% from the floor and 38% from beyond the arc.

However, Knecht's usage dropped last season, as he averaged just over 10 minutes per game.
