Tests on Landry Shamet's sprained right ankle came back negative, but the Brooklyn Nets guard will not immediately join the team on its three-game road trip, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 24-year-old sustained the injury in Sunday's game against the Washington Wizards.

Shamet averages just over 20 minutes of playing time for the Eastern Conference contender, contributing 7.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per outing.

The Nets face the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, and the Detroit Pistons on Friday before returning to Brooklyn to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves next Monday.
